Accessibility at Kritik

Our Commitment

Kritik is dedicated to continuously improving our websites, applications and features to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment for as many students as possible. Our products and services are designed based on the internationally recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and Section 508 standards in the United States.

To ensure and validate our accessibility compliance, a third-party vendor conducts regular audits of the Kritik platform.

Resources

Accommodation

An inclusive learning environment is necessary to fully unleash students’ potential. Kritik strives to empower institutions and educators to create accessible and equitable learning experiences for all students, no matter their circumstances.

Schedule Flexibility

All Kritik activities can be scheduled for specific students at specific times and durations based on their individual needs. Instructors also have the option to set a grace period for students, and also to accept late submissions after the grace period or due date.

Asynchronous Flexibility

Students have the ability to work through activities at their own pace. While working through a particular stage, their responses are automatically saved and can be re-submitted until the stage is complete.

Multi-Device Flexibility

Kritik can be accessed on a web browser from any laptop or desktop computer and via browser on students’ mobile devices and tablets.

Understanding

Screen readers

ARIA is supported on user interface elements and correct labelling. Skip links and landmarks are given to help navigate through assistive technology to any user accessing the interface.

Interactive Media and Content

All videos, e-books and webinars available on Kritik provide captions and alternative texts where applicable.

Perceivable

Magnification Tools

Students with impaired vision can use assistive technologies, such as ZoomText, to navigate through Kritik and increase readability up to 200 percent.

Operable

Keyboard Navigation

Interactive elements are accessible through keyboard commands. Popular keyboard navigation works even on screen readers such as VoiceOver and JAWS, allowing certain assistive devices to easily leap down the HTML tree.
