Professor Kelly Morse joins us to share her experience implementing peer assessment in courses within the department of English at Old Dominion University.

"Since I started having my students upload drafts and do peer review in Kritik, their writings have consistently been of a higher quality than what I was receiving when they handed drafts into me alone.
Kritik takes the work out of doing peer review - not only does the algorithm automatically assign reviewers (instead of me doing it) but as the course goes on it collects data on who is a strong reviewer. The system then begins to be less random, and instead assigns strong reviewers across assignments so eventually, everyone benefits from their careful critiques.
Through the gamified system, the students themselves want to become better reviewers; they can see their progress in real-time via the stars and badges system Kritik uses to encourage engagement."
